PREQUAL I

60 X 60 cm - Mixed Media

This piece explores the delicate intersection between humanity and machine, vulnerability and precision. I have sought to capture the psychological tension that emerges when artificial intelligence begins to mirror human consciousness—not just in functionality, but in emotion and identity.

Rendered in hyperreal detail with layered mechanical components emerging organically from the subject’s head, this work is as much a portrait of future potential as it is a reflection on current anxieties. The subject’s expression is calm, yet the intricate systems beneath hint at complexity, tension, and transformation.

The wires and internal machinery contrast with the softness of her features, raising questions: Where does the machine end and the human begin? Is she becoming more human, or less?

This is part of a broader series investigating identity, heritage and the eternal question;

Who am I?
