Plymouth-Area Tourist Attractions

Plymouth Massachusetts is much more than a place of history. It's the center of a universe of places to go, things to see, and many things to do.

Although Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket are to the South, Boston, Salem, Gloucester, and the mountains of Northern New England are to the North, and the attractions of Providence and Newport in Rhode Island are to the West, right here in Plymouth you'll find a lot to keep you occupied.

If you enjoy Golf, you'll find about a dozen courses here, many of them new and tournament-caliber.

If Fishing is your sport, Plymouth is the place for starting your deep-sea fishing excursion for huge Bluefin tuna, swordfish, shark, and many other species. Good fresh-water fishing is available too, nearby in Plymouth's many ponds.

Museums abound here --- from those in Plymouth (Pilgrim Hall and Plimoth Plantation) to the nearby Sandwich Glass Museum and Heritage Plantation of Sandwich with its many antique cars and civil war dioramas, and the many museums in Boston, Cambridge, and the Revolutionary War sites in Lexington and Concord. Plus, you can visit where Paul Revere lived in Boston and John Adams raised his family in Quincy. And in Salem you can actually tour inside the House of the Seven Gables .

From Plymouth you can also go whale-watching on Captain John's boats right out of Plymouth harbor, visit one of our many beaches or ponds in the summer, cross-country ski in our State or Town forest, hike there in the summer -- or do absolutely nothing. (Plymouth is a perfect place for pure relaxation, too.)
